A little about nerikomi
Nerikomi is a Japanese ceramic technique in which differently colored clays are layered, combined, and shaped to create patterns that run through the body of the clay. Unlike surface decoration, the pattern is an integral part of the clay itself.
Because this piece is handmade, slight variations in pattern, color, texture, and shape are natural and are part of its individual character.
