"Alice At Naptime" features a mother who is never pictured, drawing a baby who is always sleeping. When Alice naps she becomes a muse, as inspirational at rest as she is a hindrance to artistic production when awake. She prefers to be coaxed to sleep in strollers and carseats, which take on a life of their own as the artist draws and redraws them as often as her sweet daughter’s face. Gradually Alice is multiplied in a tapestry of selves, both large and small, while an overarching narrative whispers through the pages, musing on the meeting of former and future selves. At its core, "Alice at Naptime" tells a universal story, of a parent pining for past freedoms, while simultaneously descending down a rabbit hole of all-encompassing maternal love.
Softcover,  full colour, 192 pages.
14.4 x 23.4 cm.
