Handmade Nerikomi Mug and Saucer – Brown & Cream Geometric Design

This one-of-a-kind handmade mug and saucer set is created using the traditional Japanese Nerikomi technique.

Different colored clays are carefully combined and patterned to create the design within the clay itself, rather than simply painting a pattern onto the surface.

The warm brown and creamy white geometric pattern continues across the mug, handle, rim, and matching saucer, creating a playful yet sophisticated look. The pattern also has subtle variations throughout the set, making each piece truly unique.

This mug is made for those who appreciate the beauty of handmade ceramics and the time, patience, and craftsmanship behind the nerikomi process.

A little about nerikomi

Nerikomi is a Japanese ceramic technique in which differently colored clays are layered, combined, and shaped to create patterns that run through the body of the clay. Unlike surface decoration, the pattern is an integral part of the clay itself.

Because this piece is handmade, slight variations in pattern, color, texture, and shape are natural and are part of its individual character.
