"Delicate Balance" is my personal interpretation of a dreamy summer sunset. I aimed to capture the subtle harmony between the cool hues of the sky and the gentle warmth of the sun, showcasing their ability to peacefully coexist and create something truly special.
With my oil paints and a loosely used reference photo, I aimed to create a mosaic of closely matched cool and warm tones to give the impression of light emanating from the painting. I intertwined soft peach, pinks, and yellows with hints of lilac, grays, and light blues. The landscape features intriguing trees and gentle hills, setting the stage for the captivating sky display.
"Delicate Balance" is an original oil painting on aluminum composite, 12x12 inches mounted on a cradled board 1.5 inches deep. varnished and ready to hung.
Distinguished by its innovative methodology, the painting employs a diverse range of tools to manipulate the oil medium across a sleek surface, complemented by an acrylic underpainting. This artistic technique imparts a unique texture, fostering a dynamic interplay that conveys a profound sense of depth and motion across the canvas.
